Data#3 to deliver updated Govdex

Data#3 has won a tender to provide a whole-of-government, cloud-based enterprise file sharing and collaboration system for the Department of Finance.

The new solution will be based on Microsoft Azure and Office 365 and will replace the existing Govdex platform.

Like its predecessor, the new Govdex will be deigned to facilitate business process collaboration across various agencies, policy portfolios and jurisdictions by promoting efficient information sharing. The existing platform has attracted 90,000 users since it was established.

The upgraded solution is expected to enable greater interconnectivity, file sharing and collaboration between government organisations, while reducing expenses through economies of scale and provide an avenue for government to collaborate with external as well as internal parties.

The service will provide a single point for government employees and industry partners to share files, host discussion group, manage tasks, conduct video broadcasts, run polls and conduct other collaborative tasks.

“We are delighted to work with the Department of Finance on this innovative initiative,” Data#3 CEO Laurence Baynham said.

“It is a great example of how leveraging people and technology can help to drive digital transformation in the public sector. We look forward to assisting the department in achieving their business goals.”
