Vic State Library outsources Oracle support
Australia’s oldest library, the State Library of Victoria, has contracted third-party enterprise software support provider Rimini Street to manage its Oracle E-Business software deployment.
As part of the agreement, Rimini Street is also providing the library with its Advanced Database Security (ADS) and Advanced Application Middleware Security (AAMS) to help mitigate threats to the deployment.
State Library of Victoria CFO Bradley Vice said the decision to outsource software support to a third party was motivated by a belief that the library was not getting value for money paying annually for Oracle maintenance and support.
“Rimini Street provided an attractive proposal which stacked up favourably for what we needed,” he said.
“The Rimini Street support team respond quickly, which has allowed us to clear outstanding tickets and spend more resources on undertaking a number of other library improvement projects.”
The partnership has allowed the library to develop functional enhancements and improved system controls, as well as complete a proof of concept for an online invoicing management solution, Vice said.
Rimini Street offers SLAs promising a 10-minute response time for all critical Priority 1 cases, with all clients assigned a primary support engineer with an average of 20 years’ experience in the client’s enterprise software.
