Board reshuffle for TIO
Geoff Nicholson will join the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO) board from February as an independent director, replacing long-serving independent director Jane Harvey, who is retiring from the board.
TIO has also announced the reappointments of Paul Harrison and Jules Scarlett, as directors with consumer and industry experience respectively.
“I welcome Geoff as a new member of the board of TIO Limited and thank Jane Harvey for her long and dedicated service to the TIO,” TIO Board Chair Patricia Faulkner said.
“Geoff brings with him a wealth of experience as a non-executive company director and will assume the role of independent director with commercial governance experience on the TIO board.”
Nicholson has held senior roles in finance with companies such as OTC, Telstra, Foxtel and AusNet Services.
Since leaving AusNet Services in 2013, he has served on a number of boards, including not-for-profits such as Launch Housing, where he is deputy chair, and Hanover Welfare Services, where he served as chair.
Nicholson is also a director of United Energy, Marchment Hill Consulting and Athletics Australia.
As required by the TIO’s company constitution, formal recruitment processes were undertaken for all three board vacancies.
The board of TIO Limited is chaired by an independent director and comprises a balanced mix of directors with industry and consumer experience, an independent director with not-for-profit governance experience and an independent director with commercial governance experience.
