Virtual desktop infrastructure at the Australian Securities and Investment Commission

The Australian Securities and Investment Commission has implemented desktop virtualisation, replacing 2400 desktop computers with virtual machines.

The Commission has not been able to discuss the implementation in public, but at VMworld 2011 - which GTR editor Simon Sharwood attended as a guest of VMware - Technical Engineer Jeff O'Connor delivered a warts-and-all account of the project.
