City of Subiaco upgrades key IT systems
The council of the City of Subiaco in Perth has decided to upgrade its key IT systems to a solution provided by TechnologyOne in order to improve residents’ and visitors’ access to local government services.
The City will consolidate many of its existing technology systems into a single enterprise resource planning platform, with the phased rollout of the TechnologyOne solution to commence in December.
The upgrade will progressively replace systems including finance and waste management and will be accompanied by the deployment of an online portal enabling residents to easily change their details, make payments, raise services requests and track application lodgements.
City of Subiaco Mayor David McMullen said the deployment forms part of the city’s efforts to position itself as a modern place to live and work.
“We want to be a modern, vibrant organisation that balances technological efficiency with our human services. That means giving our ratepayers choices: if they still want to interact with the City in person they can, and if they would prefer to access services online, at any time that is convenient to them, they can do that too,” he said.
“Heavy reliance on manual processing is the old way of service delivery in the local government sector. The TechnologyOne solution has been sold to us as an efficient system, with capacity to deliver not only a better customer experience, but better value for our ratepayers too.”
