MAV launches new community website
The Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) has launched a Vic Councils website at www.viccouncils.asn.au that aims to provide information and resources for the community.
The site is intended to improve community access to information about council roles and services, and it features resources for residents, businesses, job seekers, volunteers and prospective councillor candidates.
The site includes a monthly guest mayoral blog, with the inaugural blog provided by Melbourne’s new Lord Mayor, Cr Sally Capp.
According to the MAV, two of the top three reasons people visited the former MAV website was to access the council careers page or information in the ‘About local government’ section.
The MAV has also set up a new Vic Councils Facebook page.
The MAV’s corporate site remains at http://www.mav.asn.au, and it is focused on providing information and resources for MAV members.
