Shopify extends incentive program for Vic SMEs
Shopify is continuing its partnership with the Victorian Government for a third round with the launch of a new Small Business Digital Adaption Program.
The program will provide eligible Victorian businesses with a $1200 rebate on their Shopify subscription, equivalent to 12 months’ access to the ecosystem of tools and experts available through the platform.
Shopify will also offer enhanced incentives including an extended 30-day free trial — double the standard 15 days — as well as live training and webinars through the company’s Victoria Educational Hub.
Other incentives include special offers from ecosystem partners, agencies, developers and freelancers, and 24/7 customer support.
To be eligible, merchants must have a registered business in Australia. They will be provided the opportunity to choose from 14 different commerce vendors, including Shopify. Once businesses decide on their partner, they can visit the Victoria Government website to start their rebate process.
“Shopify is proud to once again have the opportunity to support sole traders, micro and local small businesses in Victoria with the tech tools and resources needed to adapt, grow and thrive,” Shopify Managing Director for APAC Shaun Broughton said.
“Schemes like the Small Business Digital Adaptation Program are crucial for incentivising business digitalisation, setting the stage for Victorian businesses to flourish amid an increasingly competitive environment.”
