VIDEO: Brisbane's smart city ambitions
In this video from KPMG, Brisbane Lord Mayor Graham Quirk discusses how Brisbane City Council is using Smart City thinking to meet the needs of its citizens.
“It’s all about undertaking those things we need to do create great lifestyle, great connectivity and great livability within our cities,” the Lord Mayor said.
“And so for Brisbane that means having the technology, the smart technologies, that allow us to grow employment, to include everybody within our city, and also to create opportunities for the future.”
As far as deployment of technologies is concerned, the Lord Mayor said that the City is looking at “the things that can be used to make our jobs, on behalf of ratepayers, easier and cheaper, so that everybody becomes a winner”.
