Women in AI celebrated
The NSW Department of Customer Service (DCS) has congratulated winners of the 2023 Women in Artificial Intelligence Awards, which were bestowed in Sydney last Friday.
Winners across 18 categories represented a range of disciplines and industries — from AI professionals in startups to women leading innovative transformation in government agencies.
As a Principal Partner Sponsor, DCS believes in addressing the gender gap in recruiting women to data and AI roles.
Led by the NSW Chief Data Scientist, the department is committed to the responsible use of AI and regulates its use through the AI Assurance Framework with a keen focus on AI ethics principles, community benefit and fairness.
Recognised as the leading Australian jurisdiction for embedding the ethical considerations of emerging technologies such as AI into government services, DCS is on a journey to be the home of data, digital and AI.
The department is also home to the NSW Data Analytics Centre, a first of its kind in Australia. Its mission is to build world-class capabilities in whole-of-government data analytics to improve outcomes for the people of NSW.
