LCD Digital Bus Stop Totems delivered to Adelaide's O-Bahn Tunnel Project

The South Australian Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure recently selected MetroSpec as the provider of 31 MetroSpec LCD Digital Bus Stop Totems for the O-Bahn Tunnel Project. Totems were installed in Adelaide’s CBD major bus thoroughfares on Currie and Grenfell streets.

Since their installation these totems have streamlined travel for commuters by providing the arrival times for six incoming buses at a time as well as other up-to-date service information in an easy-to-read format.

This was a major upgrade for commuters in Adelaide. Signage was upgraded from standard printed flagpole style signs to 32″ sleek, weatherproof, high bright LCD displays. These sunlight-readable digital totems also included 6.4 mm high UV limiting shatterproof glass and in-built wireless PCs.

The Digital Totem’s in-built PC allows MetroSpec’s clients to connect to the main unit from a remote location to modify information in real time. Since the totems’ installation, commuters of Adelaide have been able to receive up-to-date information about their transport.

Aside from the totem’s functional benefits, it was important for all of us at MetroSpec to design a sleek, lightweight and modern Digital Bus Stop Totem that could enhance Adelaide’s surroundings. That’s why we engineered a totem that not only looks pretty but as an option provides CO2 reduction and is compatible with some solar panels, making it green friendly.

Like all of our displays, these totems were custom built to last and withstand the natural elements of their surroundings. Our sleek digital bus stop totems are readable in direct sunlight, weatherproof, dustproof and vandal resistant. They also consume low amounts of power and are made to operate 24/7. They have a brightness of up to 4000 NITS and display information clearly and easily.
