ACSC releases cybersecurity video training for privileged users

The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) has released a series of Privileged User Training (PUT) videos that it says offers a practical, engaging way for privileged information and communication technology (ICT) users to strengthen cybersecurity skills.

Designed to meet the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) annual training requirement, the series is designed to deliver guidance to help users protect systems and sensitive information in an evolving threat landscape.

The series covers key topics including attacker behaviour, defence-in-depth strategies, risk management and incident response. It also addresses emerging challenges such as social engineering, artificial intelligence (AI) risks, and future technologies. Each module focuses on practical actions users can apply in their daily work to reduce vulnerabilities and build stronger organisational resilience.

Privileged users hold a unique position of trust, and their elevated access to systems and data makes them primary guardians of an organisation’s security and a crucial line of defence against cyber threats. Whether responsible for system administration, network security or broader ICT oversight, the PUT video series offers essential knowledge that can be applied immediately by privileged users.

The ACSC encourages privileged users to access the Privileged User Training web page to explore the full suite of videos, access additional information, and download content.
