Check Point teams with Illumio for enhanced XDR

Cybersecurity company Check Point Software Technologies has partnered with breach containment company Illumio to help organisations strengthen their zero trust posture.

Under the collaboration, Check Point’s Infinity Platform will be integrated with the Illumio platform to expedite identification and mitigation of lateral movement risks in hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Joint customers will be able to combine Check Point Quantum Force AI-powered cloud security gateways, the Infinity ThreatCloud AI big data threat intelligence platform and AI powered security management capabilities with the Illumio Segmentation zero trust segmentation platform and Illumio Insights AI cloud detection and response solution.

Combining the capabilities from both companies will allow for the protection of critical assets with microsegmentation across hybrid cloud environments, and reduce the risk of breaches and associated costs.

The Quantum Force firewalls are designed to efficiently block malicious traffic, with AI security management capabilities used to notify firewalls how to block newly detected threats. By integrating with Illumio, additional AI-driven insights can help more effectively identify risks and attack routes.

Check Point Software Chief Revenue Officer Itai Greenberg said the collaboration is designed to reflect the fact that stopping lateral movement is critical to breach prevention.

"Our partnership with Illumio delivers unmatched visibility and adaptive policy enforcement, empowering organisations to contain threats fast,” he said. “It also demonstrates the strength of our hybrid mesh architecture, which we envision as an open garden, and our commitment to driving Zero Trust strategies with industry leaders."
