Darktrace completes IRAP assessments for key products

Enterprise security company Darktrace has completed an InfoSec Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) assessment of its adaptive AI-powered network and operational technology security platforms.

The assessment of the Darktrace / NETWORK and Darktrace / OT platforms against Information Security Manual controls authorises the platform to handle government data up to the PROTECTED classification level.

The two platforms take a behavioural approach to securing enterprise environments, with adaptive AI used to continuously learn how an organisation’s people and AI agents behave to help detect any anomalous activity.

By identifying significant behavioural changes, Darktrace can detect, investigate and respond to suspicious activity without the need to reply on known attack signatures or previously observed threats.

Darktrace had already achieved FedRAMP High Agency Authority to Operate status for its platform in the US. Expanding this to IRAP authorisation will pave the way for deeper use of the platform among Australian Government customers, according to Darktrace Key Account Director Kiranraj Govindaraj.

“Completing an IRAP assessment against the ISM’s PROTECTED-level helps Australian Government and defence institutions to adopt Darktrace’s Adaptive AI capabilities with confidence,” he said.

“Australian Government and defence organisations are modernising quickly, but they cannot afford to create new security blind spots as their environments become more connected and complex. Our unique behavioural security approach can enable them to understand normal behaviour across their operations, then identify and contain emerging threats before they disrupt critical services or operations, whether generated by human or AI actors.”
