Genetec assessed as aligning with Essential Eight
Enterprise physical security software provider Genetec has been assessed as aligning with the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s Essential Eight threat mitigation framework.
The Essential Eight Maturity Assessment, conducted by CyberCX, confirms Genetec solutions as being compliant with the requirements of Australian government organisations, businesses and critical infrastructure providers.
The Essential Eight framework outlines a list of cybersecurity controls designed to address vulnerabilities across IT systems. It includes requirements for areas including patching of applications and operating systems, multi-factor authentication, and application controls.
Genetec country manager for Oceania George Moawad said receiving Essential Eight certification underscores the company’s commitment to supporting Australian customers through its nationwide team and network of accredited channel partners.
“Today, every organisation’s risk and compliance strategy must integrate advanced cybersecurity measures where both IT departments and the C-suite are confident in their providers’ physical security posture. The technology that underpins this stance is paramount and must match or exceed policy mandates,” he said. “Essential Eight alignment means that our customers can now be even more confident in the cybersecurity posture of Genetec.
"However, just as the Essential Eight continues to evolve, so must preventative measures. By implementing controls such as those detailed in the Essential Eight, enterprises and government organisations can reduce the likelihood of falling victim to an attack.”
