Techstars Technology Accelerator will support Australian defence
Techstars has launched its first Defence and Security Accelerator in Adelaide.
It is designed to support companies in developing and commercialising technologies related to the defence and security sectors.
The initiative will support the promotion and development of defence innovation in Australia, following the launch of the Defence Innovation Hub at the end of 2016.
“The government is investing $640 million over the next decade to mature and further develop technologies in the engineering and development stages,” said Christopher Pyne, Minister for Defence Industry.
“Initiatives such as these are very welcome and will support the defence market to mature advanced technologies to a level that are ready for defence consideration, including through the Innovation Hub.”
The Innovation Hub will provide equal opportunity for all participants — from small to medium enterprises to prime defence contractors — to put forward their ideas.
