Chris Riddell, Steve Wozniak to discuss connected future

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and Australian futurist Chris Riddell will appear at the NSW Future Transport Summit in Sydney next Monday, 18 April, to discuss Wozniak’s vision for a connected future.

Riddell and Wozniak will cover topics including driverless cars, robotics and virtual reality in a future-looking presentation.

“I believe the future for all Australians will feature robots, a cashless society, driverless cars, increased safety through high-tech home automation, better health care because of the connectivity with the ‘internet of things’ and mobile phones will be obsolete because of new wearable devices connecting all of us,” Riddell said.

“I think Steve Wozniak will have a more global view on a number of issues and topics such as getting learning machines to act like the human brain, self-driving cars and virtual reality as well as human interaction with robots. I’m really looking forward to talking with him and hosting him at NSW Future Transport Summit next week.”

Riddell is a futurist, speaker and expert commentator, as well as a senior advisor to businesses across multiple verticals, including technology, communications, transportation, manufacturing, health care and finance.

The two-day Future Transport summit will host Australian and international expert speakers. It is focused on ways to use technology innovation to make NSW a world leader in transport.

Other speakers include Microsoft Australia Managing Director Pip Marlow, CBA Executive General Manager Lyn McGrath, Telstra CTO Vish Nandlall, Uber ANZ General Manager David Rohrsheim and NSW Taxi Council CEO Roy Wakelin-King.

Registrations to attend the summit have now closed; however, there are options to live stream sessions with Steve Wozniak and other speaks by signing up at: https://future.transport.nsw.gov.au/summit-2016/watch-the-livestream/.
