CSC wins $100m Transport for NSW managed services deal
Transport for NSW has handed technology services company CSC a more than $100 million contract to provide network managed services across the department’s 1200 sites.
Under the agreement, CSC will manage seven of the department’s legacy networks as well as various new technologies being deployed as part of a network refresh.
The contract covers all Transport for NSW locations including administration offices, motor registries, roadside depots and railway stations.
CSC will maintain all critical network equipment including switch routers, wireless networks and firewalls for the department and its agencies.
In addition, CSC will manage all third parties that provide services and transmission for the department’s networks.
CSC last month acquired Australian IT services company UXC Limited for $427.6 million. Transport for NSW has been a client of UXC’s since 1992, and so the combined company has secured the contract.
The contract has a three-year term with two optional one-year extensions.
“Transport for NSW had embarked on a rigorous procurement process before extending its relationship with CSC,” the company’s managing director for Australia and New Zealand, Seelan Nayagam, said.
“Our deep knowledge of the transport industry and ability to meet Transport’s core requirements around enhanced services and delivery quality were key factors in the final selection of CSC to support these vitally important operations.”
