Qld State Development dept looking for CIO
The Queensland Department of State Development is on the hunt for a new CIO to replace acting technology chief Mike D’Arcy.
D’Arcy has been serving as acting CIO since the resignation of Mark Cushing from the role over a year ago.
While a listing for the position specifies a six-month contract, it adds that there is room for a possible extension.
The chosen applicant will take overall responsibility for the department’s ICT services, including the management of technology budgets and contracts, and will play a key role in transforming how the department interacts with technology and information, the job ad states.
Responsibilities will include providing leadership and direction to the department’s IMT division; ensuring that officers and clients understand how to maximise their use of technologies; and overhauling IT hardware and software asset management strategies.
As part of the technology transformation focus, the chosen applicant will also work to foster a culture of innovation. In addition, the CIO will ensure the department meets compliance and governance standards and ensure new and emerging technologies are considered for adoption.
Applications close on 27 April.
