LGA SA to hold communications conference
The Local Government Association of SA’s inaugural Local Government Communications Conference will be themed around reflection, learning and innovation.
Held on 27 July 2018 at the Adelaide Town Hall, the ‘Reflect. Learn. Innovate. Communicate for success’ program encourages delegates to reflect on the experiences of the local government sector and trends from other sectors, to learn, and then implement innovative practices for cut-through communication into the future.
The program includes speakers from across the state and from wider Australia. Tracey Whitelaw will give the keynote address on her recent experience with the Commonwealth Games and the role social media plays in crisis management.
A panel of journalists from The Advertiser, InDaily and the ABC will provide advice on how organisations can best get their message across in the media. Other speakers will include David Waters, Adelaide Hills Council; Josh Fanning, publisher of CityMag and The City Standard); Nick McGrath and Charles Dyer, Winton Shire Council in Queensland; and James Pederson, General Manager at Southern Cross Austereo.
