Second Qld agency migrated to Aurion payroll system

Queensland’s Department of Science, Information Technology and Innovation (DSITI) has completed a payroll systems upgrade for Queensland Corrective Services.

Pay for Queensland Corrective Services’ 4700 employees will now be managed through the Aurion-based shared payroll solution.

The successful transition from the previous Lattice-based system follows a migration by the Inspector General Emergency Management public safety agency.

A further two departments, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and Queensland Ambulance Services, will also be migrated to the Aurion system as part of the $100 million public safety payroll upgrade.

The government recently asserted that the payroll project remains on budget and on track for an end-2018 completion, despite reports asserting that the project is months behind schedule and likely to blow its $100 million budget.

“The transition of Queensland Corrective Services payroll solution is a testament to the great work of public servants at DSITI’s Queensland Shared Services (QSS) division, who delivered the migration through rigorous project management, including extensive testing and data validation,” said Queensland Minister for Science, Innovation and the Digital Economy and Minister for Small Business Leeanne Enoch.

“DSITI’s approach with payroll is to consolidate and modernise its services. Queensland Corrective Services, along with the other public safety agencies, will experience a system with increased functionality from their payroll solution, such as improved workflow.”
