Ten Gigabit Adelaide connects another customer
Adelaide-based fashion retailer Australian Fashion Labels has become one of the first businesses to connect to the Ten Gigabit Adelaide fibre broadband network.
The company has signed a contract with provider TPG Telecom to access high-speed connectivity to support its business.
Australian Fashion Labels is an international fashion house with around 130 staff employed locally and around the world.
Co-founder Dean Flintoft said infrastructure like Ten Gigabit Adelaide has encouraged the company to remain headquartered in Adelaide despite its international growth.
“Besides all of the other great things happening here, this is the type of infrastructure that makes us want to stay. We get all of the benefits of living and working in such a beautiful city, with the bonus of faster, more reliable and affordable telecommunications and infrastructure,” he said.
“Being based in Adelaide but having staff and suppliers around the world, having high-speed connectivity is absolutely essential, and we view Ten Gigabit Adelaide as a necessary business tool. “With its speed, reliability and affordability, Ten Gigabit Adelaide will ensure our business can continue to compete globally to attract and support new jobs, companies and investments.”
The company will be able to increase bandwidth tenfold at two key locations while still saving around 25% on its current network spend.
More than 500 building owners have now signed up to be connected to the network through network partner TPG. The company won the deal to become the official network partner for the project in December, following a worldwide invitation for expressions of interest issued by the council in January.
The first CBD buildings were connected to the network in March, and the council and TPG aim to roll out the network to 1000 buildings over the next two years.
