Twitter Day held again for local government

Local Government Twitter Day will be taking place again this year on 1 August.

The purpose of the event is to showcase the diverse range of council services with the Twitter community, as well as to increase awareness of the important work that local government does.

Those participating simply need to add the hashtag #YourRatesAtWork to council tweets throughout the 24 hours.

Key peak bodies, influential champions and other levels of government are invited to join the day and help showcase the work of local government.

In 2016 National Twitter Day generated 2260 tweets using the #YourRatesAtWork hashtag, with more than 530 separate Twitter users participating nationwide.
