Cenitex deploys Zscaler cloud security platform
The Victorian Government's ICT shared service provider Cenitex has deployed the Zscaler cloud security platform to deliver secure services across more than 450 public sector offices.
Cenitex is deploying the solution to support its Program Fortify, which is aimed at improving the security, resilience and reliability of its core networking and hosting infrastructure while transforming into a cloud-first organisation.
The Zscaler platform will support Cenitex’s use of cloud-based applications to deliver services to Victoria’s 36,000 public servants, including by providing support for Office 365.
Cenitex is also using the platform to protect users of the state government’s Guest Wi-Fi service.
“As user internet traffic no longer has to be routed through the Cenitex data centre, application performance has improved. We are seeing significant improvements for our Office 365 users and other internet-based applications,” Cenitex Director of Digital Transformation Nav Pillai said.
“Zscaler has been a game changer in the way we are able to deliver services to our users. Rather than deploying cloud security from legacy firewall vendors, we chose Zscaler’s cloud-based platform to protect corporate-issued devices wherever they are connected to the internet and give us near-instant scalability capability to support new users.”
