IP Australia to place PEGA graduate
IP Australia is set to broaden its specialised talent base through a new collaboration with the University of Canberra and customer engagement and digital process automation company Pegasystems.
The three-way collaboration between the education, business and government sectors is based around increasing the number of Australians qualified in using the PEGA platform.
As part of the collaboration, the University of Canberra integrated the PEGA syllabus into its ICT courses, delivering the syllabus to 22 students in mid-2017.
The inaugural graduate from the program, Andrew Duck, is now undergoing three weeks’ training at Pega’s global headquarters in the US and will follow this with a 12-month placement at IP Australia.
“IP Australia seeks to exploit new technology to provide better services for our customers and tools for our staff. We need a skilled technological workforce to do this and we are pleased to collaborate with Pegasystems and the University of Canberra to help develop that workforce,” IP Australia Director General Patricia Kelly said.
“We look forward to welcoming Andrew Duck to our team on his return from specialist training in the US.”
Based on the success of last year’s initiative, the graduate program will continue this year.
