NZ finalises Digital Advisory Group appointments
The New Zealand government has appointed the final seven members of the new Digital Economy and Digital Inclusion Advisory Group, taking the total member base up to 15.
New appointees include Internet NZ Councillor Amber Craig, serial entrepreneur David Moskovitz and Auckland Libraries Head of Digital Solutions and Innovation Robyn Kamira.
Timaru District Council Mayor Damon Odey, digital analytics company Takiwa’s CEO and co-founder Michael Taitoko, UAV company Incredible Skies’ founder and CEO Robyn Kamira and Digital Seniors founder and CEO Cathy Hardinge round out the list.
The group, which was announced in December, has been founded to help in building New Zealand’s digital economy and bridging the digital divide. The first eight members were appointed last month.
The 15 members have been appointed for a 12-month period and are expected to meet with Broadcasting, Communications and Digital Media and Government Digital Services Minister Clare Curran next month to discuss the group’s work program for the year.
In addition to the permanent members, there will be opportunities for people with sector-specific expertise to take part in the planning work.
“I’m committed to making sure no-one is left behind by the pace of technological change which is affecting the way we work, learn, relax and interact with each other,” Curran said.
“There was an overwhelming response from people with the skills, vision and enthusiasm to join the group who want to help all New Zealanders take full advantage of the opportunities provided by digital technology.”
