Success for Vic emergency services sharing platform
Victoria’s multiagency emergency management lessons management platform EM-Share has received its 1000th observation, according to Emergency Management Victoria.
EM-Share was launched in October last year as an online platform to provide transparency, analytics and collaboration as part of emergency services agencies’ lessons management life cycle.
The platform allows personnel from across the community, business, industry and emergency management agencies segments to contribute to learning and improvement of the emergency management sector.
All of the state’s emergency management personnel — including volunteers — can submit observations, stories and experiences anonymously or using existing logins for the Emergency Management Common Operating Picture incident reporting site.
Agencies can review, analyse and track outcomes related to these insights and lessons and members can collaborate with others by sharing resources, communications, products and information.
“In Victoria there is significant emphasis on learning lessons to improve the way we do things into the future. The input of this data will directly influence and support evidence-based decision-making moving forward, as well as informing projects, programs and capability development,” Emergency Management Victoria Manager for Standards and Review Lisa Jackson said.
“EM-Share has been embraced across the sector with a shared goal of working together in a smarter and more integrated way.”
