Macquarie Government deploys SASE for federal agency
Macquarie Government has expanded its partnership with Netskope after securing a multimillion-dollar network security agreement with a major federal government department.
Macquarie Government’s four-year agreement with the Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solution provider covers the provision of the Netskope One platform. The platform was recently deployed to the unnamed government department to help ensure its compliance with the Australian Signals Directorate’s Essential Eight Maturity Model Level 2 controls.
The deployment uses SASE architecture and a zero trust security configuration to ensure the department’s personnel can access applications securely based on clearance levels, whether working on-premise or remotely. SASE continuously verifies and validates accounts and blocks unauthorised data-sharing on unapproved applications, while guiding staff towards agency-approved controls.
Macquarie Government was one of the first Australian organisations to be appointed to Netskope’s Managed Service Provider program. The extended agreement builds on this milestone and cements the companies’ partnership, according to Macquarie Government MD Aidan Tudehope.
“The combination of Netskope’s best-in-class single-vendor SASE platform with Macquarie Government’s sovereign capabilities brings the promise of secure, flexible access to Australian government agencies, transforming the way users and applications are secured,” he said. “By ensuring compliance with Essential Eight Maturity Level 2 standards, this partnership delivers enhanced security and resilience, providing a robust system that addresses the unique needs of government entities in an increasingly complex digital landscape.”
Macquarie Government is a subsidiary of ASX-listed Macquarie Technology Group.
