Zoom secures IRAP assessment
Collaboration technology provider Zoom has secured a successful Infosec Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) assessment as part of its efforts to expand its security initiatives in the face of stricter regulatory requirements.
The IRAP assessment demonstrates that Zoom provides the security controls necessary for customers to follow Australian Government security requirements including those listed in the Information Security Manual.
IRAP assessment also evaluates companies against the Protective Security Policy Framework, a set of core security requirements for Australian government agencies.
Internationally, Zoom has also received attestation under the Cloud Computing Compliance Controls Catalog (C5), the German Government-backed framework introduced by the Federal Office for Information Security.
Finally, Zoom has been certified under the Esquema Nacional de Seguridad program, a set of security standard for Spanish government agencies, at the high security level.
Zoom Deputy CIO Heather Ceylan said third-party certifications and attestations are integral to the foundation of the company’s security program.
“We know organisations are facing a more complex threat landscape and stricter regulatory requirements than ever before. We’re expanding our own security initiatives and efforts as a result — and part of that means attaining certifications and attestations to make sure Zoom is on par with security standards set around the globe,” she said.
“We expand our security initiatives so our customers can safely exchange important information without having to sacrifice speed, flexibility and experience. They can embrace agile and meaningful digital communications while simultaneously strengthening their own security posture.”
