ATO hires Accenture exec as CIO

The Australian Tax Office has reportedly secured the head of products for Accenture Australia/New Zealand to become its new chief information officer, following the departure of former long-time CIO Bill Gibson.

The ATO confirmed Ramez Katf, Accenture Products Australia/New Zealand client service group lead, will take over its top IT role.

Katf has spent more than 29 years at the consultancy, which included the roles of Health & Public Service in Australia, Government OG client service group lead for ASEAN and Australia, Government OG APAC operating unit lead, and APAC delivery lead for the Technology growth platform.

Among his client roles, Katf was also account lead for the ATO, which has been a long-term partner of Accenture.

Based in Brisbane, Katf will take up the role in 2016.
