WA Public Trustee extends contract with Unisys

Statutory body Western Australia Public Trustee has handed a one-year contract extension to Unisys covering the deal to provide support for a core application.

The renewal will see Unisys continue to provide support, maintenance and enhancement services to the Management Accounting Trust Environment (MATE) application.

Western Australia Public Trustee manages the legal and financial affairs of many vulnerable people in the state, providing services including trust management, deceased estate administration, executor support, financial administration and will and power of attorney drafting.

While its clients primarily reside in WA, the trustee also has a small number of clients both interstate and overseas.

The MATE application has been the trustee's core application since 2001. It was developed based on a client information management system, which has been modified by Unisys to customise it for the trustee’s demands as well as local legislative requirements.

“Unisys delivers a highly reliable client management system with the flexibility to implement functionality for new services,” commented Terry Hearn, director of corporate support for Western Australia Public Trustee.

“We have a long-standing partnership that has delivered excellent outcomes over this period. They truly understand the importance of the services we provide to the Western Australia community.”
